Why is forgiveness important? Lack of forgiveness is a live-feeding enemy. The person who fails to forgive continues to rethink and relive the violation….every word that has been spoken and every deed performed. You play it over and over in your mind. The painful experience remains alive and plays out everyday thereby creating negative energy for the person who has not forgiven. Forgiveness is important because it allows the person who has been victimized to obtain positive energy in order to thrive. 5 “…it is wise to be sure that every thought that we allow to draw from our energy is a thought that will pay us back in harmony, productivity, happiness, and general well-being. Thoughts of resentment, plans to “get even” or thoughts of ill will steal valuable reserves of energy that could be put to better use in advancing our spiritual, physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being.” 6 Florence Scovel Shinn a metaphysician tells us, “Unforgivness is the most prolific cause of disease. It will harden arteries or liver, and affect the eyesight.” In its train are endless ills. Lack of forgiveness keeps us from the divine purpose and divine plan for your life. 5 Rev. Dr. Barbara King, Transform Your Life, (The Berkeley Publishing Group 1995) 74 6 Florence Scovel Shinn, The Game of Life and How to Play the Game, (Devross Publucations, 1925) 27 AFFIRMATIONS I have not been given the spirit of fear, but the spirit of love, I am powerful and in my thoughts I am ready to accomplish all things. I am strong and very courageous. I am one with the All Mighty Creator I do not fear man. I am more than a conqueror I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. The Lord is my light and my salvation I shall not fear. The Lord is the stronghold of my life I shall not be afraid. I trust in right sacrifices and trust in the Supreme Being. My heart rejoices – I trust in God’s unfailing love. I trust that every good thing, every righteous desire of my heart is on my path and on its way to me. I am not afraid and I am not defeated. Nothing that is of ill will can touch me. I am grounded in truth. I am wide awake to my good and I will not be troubled and fearful! I turn my fear inside out and I believe that all roads lead to my good….I believe! - Back to D.R.A.W. Program -
